Employee Insurance Agency (UWV)

Social security law holds an extensive system of laws and regulations that is intended to support people financially. This via social insurance or social facilities.
UWV implements the statutory employee insurances.
Sickness benefit (ZW)
Law of the disability insurance (WAO)
Act on Work and Income according to Work Capacity (WIA)
Unemployment law (WW)
The Work and Income according to Labour Capacity Act (WIA) states that people who have become fully or partially disabled receive a benefit. This benefit starts after the statutory period of continued payment of wages of 2 years. The WIA is intended as a successor to the WAO. It should be noted that the WAO will continue to exist for people who became occupationally disabled before 1 January 2004. Both laws are implemented by the UWV.
The Disability Insurance Act (WAO) is comparable to the WIA. The law is intended for employees who have become incapacitated for work due to illness or disability. For them there is a benefit so that they can provide for their maintenance.
The Unemployment Insurance Act (WW) is, as the name suggests, intended for employees who lose their job or stop working. The amount and length of the benefit depends on a large number of factors, including the unemployment benefit monthly wage and the number of years of service. The UWV appeals on the application for unemployment benefit.
The Sickness Benefits provides sick employees who do not have a permanent job and do not receive a wage, still have an income. In that case you sometimes receive a sickness benefit from the UWV. The UWV also aids you with your reintegration.

Have you received a letter from the UWV in which your benefit is reduced, rejected, or must be repaid and you do not agree with this decision? Then Sarac advocatuur can lodge an objection with the UWV on your behalf.
This can be done within six weeks of the date the letter was sent. During the objection phase, you can still verbally explain your objections at a hearing. If the objection is rejected, Sarac Advocatuur can lodge an appeal with the court. If you also do not agree with the court’s decision, you can appeal against this to the Central Appeals Tribunal.
If you are too late in filing an objection or appeal, the decision is final and there is nothing you can do about it. It is important that you ring the bell immediately. Sarac Advocatuur is happy to help you with that.
